In terms of perhaps the biggest ongoing debate on planet football today as to who is the greatest player of their generation - and perhaps of all time - once more on Tuesday night in Bergamo, it was CR7 who again stated his case as the GOAT.
Single-handedly keeping the growing pack of wolves at the Manchester United door, Ronaldo's latest last-gasp heroics versus Atalanta in the Champions League prompted boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to compare the Portuguese maestro with basketball legend Michael Jordan.
Which raises an interesting question: just how do the two match-up in terms of wealth, properties, endorsements and total net worth? Well, thanks to The Sun, we can take a look!
On the face of it, 58-year-old, six-time NBA champion Jordan stands tall.
Boasting a financial portfolio that dwarfs that of Ronaldo, the owner of the Charlotte Hornets' net worth is set at a mind-blowing £1.2 billion, compared to that of the Red Devils' star's £367 million.
For 2020 income, however, the picture is a lot closer, with just a cool £4 million separating the pair.
And whilst Jordan has six titles to his name with just his beloved Chicago Bulls, Ronaldo has one more league title and with three separate clubs to boot, in three different leagues.
For Ronaldo also, five Ballon d'Ors and a further five European Cups have his name etched upon, although Jordan's five MVPs somewhat rebalances the scales.
Regarded as one of the greatest sportsman in US history, New Yorker Jordan won Olympic gold twice, in Los Angeles '84 and again in Barcelona during 1992. Ronaldo has his own Euro 2016 success with Portugal, but he does not have 'gold' so to speak.
His sponsors are also left somewhat in the dark, comparatively.
Whilst both men are endorsed by Nike, it is Jordan who also boasts two more of the biggest global brands in McDonald's and Coca Cola, together with US car giant Chevrolet.
Ronaldo does, though, have his name to dietary juggernaut Herbalife and DAZN, also now sponsored by London consumer goods colossus Unilever.
In terms of home comforts, meanwhile, neither superstar are exactly struggling for places to live in various spots around the globe.
Having reportedly spent £1.4million on a holiday home in Spain's Costa del Sol two years ago, Ronaldo currently resides in a £3 million Cheshire mansion having been at similar luxuries properties in Madrid and Turin.
His lavish residence sits in an area called 'The Superstars Cul-De-Sac' because of the number of famous faces who live there, including UFC star Conor McGregor.
Back in his native Madeira, his £7 million seven-storey mansion in Funchal has two swimming pools, a football pitch and incredible sea views.
Jordan has owned a £12 million mansion in Chicago for eight years now, but looking to relocate, he has been unable to find a buyer, still with a £6 million mansion in Utah on the market also.
Though the two can be closely compared up to this point, when it comes to social media, Ronaldo simply romps home.
Jordan's 22.6m Instagram followers is no shabby mark, but that figure can't hold a candle to Ronaldo's now 359m followers, second only on the platform to Instagram itself.
So how exactly do two of the biggest names in sport match up off the court/pitch? The answer is not that easy to reach.
