Junior Dos Santos wants to fight Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury after switching from MMA to boxing

Junior Dos Santos has called out Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury

Former UFC heavyweight champion Junior Dos Santos has sounded an ominous warning to British stars Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury as he prepares to switch codes from MMA to boxing.

Dos Santos, 37, has briefly dabbled in the sweet science before in the past, albeit in the gym not in the ring, but is determined to give it a good crack of the whip before he eventually retires from fighting.

And he has certainly made clear his intentions by setting his sights on arguably the biggest prize of them all: the undisputed heavyweight championship of the world.

To do so however he will no doubt have to methodically work his way through a murderers' row of contenders including former champion Deontay Wilder, Joseph Parker and Andy Ruiz Jr.

But 'Cigano' - which coincidentally literally translates as 'Gypsy' - is clearly as game as they come and will evidently do whatever it takes to get to the very top.

"I want to fight the big champions and beat them up," Dos Santos told Sky Sports.

"I want to build my way towards the championship. I want to fight the big guys - Anthony Joshua, Deontay Wilder, Tyson Fury.

"Fury is just amazing - I am a big fan of his style. He is so big but moves so well and is so effective. Wilder has more power than Mike Tyson had."

The Brazilian also played up the possibility of a lucrative exhibition with fight legend 'Iron Mike'.

Tyson, 56, is itching to get back in the ring again after fighting to a memorable draw in his bout with Roy Jones Jr last November in Los Angeles.

Dos Santos said: "I want to do big fights. If, on my way, I have to do entertaining fights against Mike Tyson, for example? I will do that too.

"It would be great. It would be a unique opportunity and I wouldn't miss it.

"I want to fight the best guys. Whatever I have to do to get there, I will do it."

Dos Santos also revealed he has previously spent time in the company of former two-time unified heavyweight champion 'AJ' after randomly bumping into him on a beach.

He added: "Joshua was teaching me some things, some of his moves.

"It was a great experience. He is a great fighter but I want to fight him, at some point.

"I am having an amazing experience with the highest level of boxing. I am ready to show my boxing skills.

"By the end of next year I will have had some great wins and some news about bigger fights."
