Leeds transfer news: Fans "resigning themselves" to £28.8m key man leaving

Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa

Raphinha is not itching for a move away from Leeds United despite supporters "resigning themselves" to the fact it could be his last season with the club, according to LeedsLive journalist Joe Donnohue.

The Brazilian has become a fan favourite since moving to Elland Road from French outfit Rennes 13 months ago.

What's the latest news involving Raphinha?

Leeds forked out £17million to acquire the winger's services as head coach Marcelo Bielsa looked to beef up his squad for the club's first Premier League campaign in 16 years.

Raphinha went on to enjoy a stellar first campaign in English football, racking up eight goals and 11 assists in 38 appearances.

His seamless adaptation to the Premier League has led to interest from rivals, with Brazilian media outlet Globo Esporte  reporting Raphinha's agent, Deco, has confirmed Liverpool are keen.

Spanish outlet Fichajes have also claimed that Barcelona have been eyeing the 24-year-old for an extensive period and are interested in doing a deal which would take Raphinha to the Nou Camp.

But Raphinha has appeared to commit his immediate future to Leeds after insisting he is hoping to guide his current employers to a European place this season.

What has Joe Donnohue said about Raphinha?

Donnohue admits Leeds fans fear this could be Raphinha's final campaign at Elland Road.

However, the reporter insists the wide man has not been threatening to quit Leeds or force a transfer.

Donnohue told GIVEMESPORT: "I think some people might be resigning themselves to the fact that it might be Raphinha's last season.

"But, ultimately, he's still a Leeds United player.

"There's not been any real concrete soundings from him to say that he's unsettled or anything like that."

How has Raphinha performed so far this season?

Raphinha has built on a fruitful first campaign in Yorkshire by scoring four goals in just nine appearances since the campaign got underway in August.

The winger, who is valued at £28.8million by Transfermarkt, has only missed one Premier League fixture so far this season and he was sorely missed as Leeds lost 1-0 to Southampton last month.

Raphinha was unavailable at St Mary's following his late return from international duty, with Brazil head coach Tite refusing to allow his Premier League-based stars to return to their clubs early.

However, the break from domestic football was memorable for Raphinha as he won his first three caps, scoring two goals and grabbing as many assists in the process.

His performances led to praise from international team-mate and Chelsea ace Thiago Silva.
