Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold produced stunning first-time assist v Atletico Madrid

What an assist!

There aren't many better crossers of a football in the world than Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The right-back's ability to put the ball on a sixpence from out wide is almost unrivalled and he was up to his usual tricks against Atletico Madrid at Anfield on Wednesday evening.

In the early stages of the first half, Liverpool's creative genius produced the most delicious first-time cross to tee up Diogo Jota for a tap-in to make it 1-0 to the hosts.

Alexander-Arnold barely even looked to see where Jota was, but still managed to find him unmarked at the back post.

The Portuguese couldn't miss with his header...

Alexander-Arnold has looked back to his very best this season after a slightly sub-par 2020/21 campaign - by his own high standards.

In eight Premier League appearances, the marauding right-back has already contributed three assists for Liverpool, a stellar return.

Surely it can't be long until he's a mainstay in Gareth Southgate's England XI, right?
