Many England fans are in full debate following Gareth Southgate announcing the latest Three Lions Squad for the upcoming World Cup Qualifiers.

The England manager will never be able to please all of the country when it comes to picking a 25-man squad, and there are definitely some notable omissions in this latest team.

Up next for England is Albania at Wembley Stadium, and then an away tie against San Marino. This is a perfect chance for England to solidify their place at the top of their group, which also features Poland, Hungary and Andorra.

Gareth Southgate will be hoping he can replicate the performance of the 2018 World Cup, and he announced his latest squad for the qualifiers today at 2pm UK time.

The standard names are in the Three Lions team as expected; Harry Kane, Jordan Pickford, Mason Mount, Declan Rice and Jack Grealish have retained their places. Many expected there to be some surprises, but Southgate has kept with what he loves and many are arguing that he is not picking players based on form, like he said he would.

Players like Harry Maguire and Tyrone Mings have not been great for Manchester United and Aston Villa over the past couple of months, yet they still retain their place. Obviously Southgate doesn't want to always be making huge changes to his team, but many are frustrated by this.

As always, certain clubs’ fanbases want their English players to be in the squad, some of the most talked about players have been Emile Smith-Rowe, Conor Gallagher and Ezri Konsa from Arsenal, Crystal Palace and Aston Villa.

There is an abundance of promising young talent as well as players in their prime, so it is always a hard choice for Southgate to narrow it down to 25 players.
