The forbidden door has been oddly quiet recently with only AAA superstars featuring on recent Dynamite and Rampage shows. But why is this? Is IMPACT still in partnership with AEW? Tony Khan revealed all recently.

Tony Khan recently answered the question that's been brewing around the wrestling community of whether IMPACT Wrestling's relationship with AEW was over.

The reason people were questioning this was that IMPACTS Bound for Glory saw AEW star and IMPACT wrestling world champion Christian Cage lose the title to challenger Josh Alexander, after cashing in on Option C. Option C gave Alexander the choice to hand in his X-Division Title for a World Title match at Bound For Glory.

The result ended with Alexander lifting the title above his head. However, people speculated whether Christian dropping the belts was a metaphor for the forbidden door closing momentarily.

Recently on Bryan Alvarez's Wrestling Observer Live,

Alvarez asked Khan: "Has there been a doorstop in the forbidden door"

In which Khan stated: "I like those guys a lot, and I'm still open to doing stuff" then carried on to say the reason which was "We don't have anything planned right now"

From this, it concludes that Khan is more than happy to work with IMPACT but it is a matter of timing. I imagine when the right storyline pops up tony Khan will be more than happy to work again and remove the lock to the forbidden door and leave it wide open for whoever steps in.
AEW and IMPACTS' previous collaboration storylines have been groundbreaking for professional wrestling. From The Good Brothers taking the IMPACT Tag Team Titles to AEW or Kenny Omega holding the IMPACT, AAA, and AEW World Title just to visualise the calibre of his talent. When the opportunity seems fit Tony Khan will take it, it's just a matter of when.
