Journalist Luke Hatfield reckons that Aston Villa will be targeting at least six points from their three November fixtures.

Four Premier League defeats on the bounce have left Villa flirting with relegation, but they face some inviting fixtures over the next month.

What are Villa's next three Premier League fixtures?

Following the trip to Southampton on Friday in their final game before the international break, Dean Smith's side host high-flying Brighton and then travel to Crystal Palace seven days later.

Villa are now just three points above the bottom-three after losing every game in October and need to put some wins on the board to not only build some momentum but relieve the pressure on Smith.

Hatfield reckons that two victories from those three matches would represent a good return for the club.

What did Hatfield say?

He told GIVEMESPORT: "I think if he can get six points, the majority will be happy. Southampton, they're a side that Villa will see as on paper probably the easiest of the three at the moment, but there's no easy games of course.

"Brighton's a really tough ask because they've started the season so well and they seem to be clicking on every level.

"But if they can get six points, seven would be brilliant, nine would pretty much settle all the doubters down and get people completely back on side, but I think six points out of nine would do Dean Smith and Villa the world of good."

Could Smith be sacked if Villa get less than six?

If Villa collect around the four or five mark, then Smith's job is likely to be safe. After all, we're only 10 games into the season and Smith needs time for all his new signings to settle in and find their feet.

However, should Villa fail to pick up any victories from that three-game period and head into December on a seven-match winless run, then the alarm bells will be seriously ringing for Smith.

But for now, unless something dramatic happens in November, there's no reason for him to be fearing for his job.
