Conte, Guardiola, Tuchel, Klopp: Who's the best manager in the Premier League?

Antonio Conte is the new manager of Tottenham Hotspur

The Premier League is home to some of the very best managers in world football.

Antonio Conte's arrival at Tottenham Hotspur following Nuno Espirito Santo's sacking only adds to the pool of high-quality coaches operating in the English top-flight right now.

The Italian is widely regarded as a master of his craft and he expertly guided Inter Milan to the Serie A title last season - bringing an end to Juventus' era of dominance in the process.

But how does Conte's managerial ability compare to those in the same role at the other 19 clubs in the Premier League?

Well, according to FourFourTwo, the former Chelsea boss is the fourth-best in that regard.

They've ranked all 20 managers in the Premier League right now based on how good they are at their job.

That includes past performance, the tactics they implement, man-management skills and how well they've done with the resources at their disposal.

Let's take a look at the list...

The 20 Premier League managers ranked (20-11)

20. Graeme Jones (Newcastle)

19. Daniel Farke (Norwich)

18. Claudio Ranieri (Watford)

17. Bruno Lage (Wolves)

16. Dean Smith (Aston Villa)

15. Patrick Vieira (Crystal Palace)

14. Thomas Frank (Brentford)

13. Ralph Hasenhuttl (Southampton)

12. Sean Dyche (Burnley)

11. Rafa Benitez (Everton)

Farke avoids finishing bottom by virtue of the fact that Jones, Newcastle's interim manager, has never taken charge of a team in a Premier League fixture.

Ranieri's 18th-place finish seems a tad harsh when you remember that he guided Leicester to a historic league title in 2015/16.

Other than that, the bottom half of the list looks fairly decent to us.

The 20 Premier League managers ranked (10-1)

10. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer (Manchester United)

9. David Moyes (West Ham)

8. Mikel Arteta (Arsenal)

7. Marcelo Bielsa (Leeds United)

6. Graham Potter (Brighton)

5. Brendan Rodgers (Leicester)

4. Antonio Conte (Tottenham)

3. Thomas Tuchel (Chelsea)

2. Jurgen Klopp (Liverpool)

1. Pep Guardiola (Manchester City)

Tuchel, Klopp and Guardiola ahead of Conte? Yeah, fair enough.

That trio are effectively the three best managers on the planet right now and one of them will almost certainly be holding the Premier League trophy aloft in May.

Arteta ahead of Solskjaer is certainly a bold call, but one that's understandable given the latter's tactical ineptitude in recent weeks at United.

All in all, FourFourTwo's ranking is pretty good in our opinion and while some may disagree with that, remember that it's impossible to please everyone when it comes to football.
