Antonio Conte's first game in charge of Tottenham Hotspur was absolute chaos as the team secured a 3-2 victory over Vitesse Arnhem in the Europa Conference League.
Spurs raced into a 3-0 lead in the first half, with Heung-min Son, Lucas Moura and an own-goal from Jacob Rasmussen handing the home side an enormous advantage.
But Vitesse came back fighting and four minutes after he fired the ball past his own goalkeeper, Rasmussen scored at the right end to make it 3-1.
Midfielder Matus Bero then reduced the deficit again for the Dutch side with a well-taken strike on 39 minutes and that was the least the visitors deserved.
Spurs looked rattled at the start of the second half and things quickly went from bad to worse for Conte when Cristian Romero picked up his second yellow card of the evening for a clumsy challenge right by the halfway line.

After that incident, Vitesse took complete control of the game and tested Hugo Lloris on a number of occasions.
However, things swung back in Spurs favour when Danilho Doekhi picked up his second yellow card of the evening on 81 minutes.
And then a short while after that, Vitesse were down to nine when goalkeeper Markus Schubert was sent off for allegedly handling the ball outside of the penalty area.
It looked like a very harsh decision by the referee...

It really was mayhem at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Thursday night, with Spurs holding on for a much-needed 3-2 win.
Conte won't be pleased with his new team's performance overall, but the important thing is that the Italian's reign in north London has started with victory.
