As noted in the above tweet by Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer, and as has been corroborated by Sean Ross Sapp, the talent releases were due to “budget cuts”.
Sapp notes that talent were emailed and told about the releases as “budget cuts” in an email from John Laurinitis.
What makes the news of “budget cuts” even more interesting is that in WWE’s investors call today, the company recorded profits of a staggering $255.8 million for the third quarter of 2021.
As always, everyone here at GiveMeSport wishes nothing but the best for the talent released by WWE today.
