Norwich latest news: The key reason why Daniel Farke remains in charge

Norwich City boss Daniel Farke

Daniel Farke's job is safe for now because Norwich City sporting director Stuart Webber values their partnership, according to journalist Stuart Hodge.

The Canaries have made a miserable start to the season and find themselves rock bottom of the Premier League table with just two points from 10 outings.

What's the latest news involving Farke?

Farke moved into the Carrow Road hotseat four-and-a-half years ago and has enjoyed success, leading Norwich to a second Championship title in the space of three seasons in May.

But the Canaries remain winless in the Premier League this term and the German was unable to stave off relegation during Norwich's last top flight campaign.

Farke's charges were consigned to a 7-0 hammering by Chelsea last month, leading to Webber describing the result as 'unacceptable'.

Despite coming under fire, Farke has received the backing of Webber, who insisted the 45-year-old is not solely responsible for Norwich's woeful start.

That has not stopped questions being asked of Farke's future, with reports suggesting Eddie Howe would be considered as a potential successor if the Canaries hierarchy opt to make a change in the dugout.

What has Stuart Hodge said about Farke's future?

Hodge is certain that Farke will be given more time to turn Norwich's fortunes around.

Farke only penned a new four-year deal in July, with Webber hailing the contract extension during an 'exciting period' for the club.

Hodge feels the working relationship between Farke and Webber will result in there being no change in the dugout.

The journalist told GIVEMESPORT: "He has been quoted as saying nothing but glowing things about Daniel Farke.

"I think he values the partnership."

Is Farke capable of turning Norwich's season around?

It has been a hugely disappointing start to the campaign for Norwich and, already, it appears as though it will be difficult for the Canaries to stave off an immediate return to the Championship.

Although we are only 10 matches into the campaign, Farke has already started to sound dejected, describing last weekend's 2-1 home defeat to Leeds United as 'horrendous'.

Who is this manager who lasted just 84 days?

Farke has given Norwich fans plenty of memorable moments during his reign, guiding the Canaries to 87 wins from 207 matches at the helm.

However, he has only led the newly-promoted side to five victories from 48 top flight outings.

Norwich's most recent Premier League triumph came all the way back in February 2020, meaning they have gone 20 fixtures without collecting three points at this level.
