Lionel Messi’s luxurious £5.7 million ($7.8 million) Miami penthouse is on sale, just seven months after the Paris Saint-Germain superstar purchased the stunning property. It was reported back in April by The Real Deal (South Florida Real Estate News) that Messi had splashed out over $7 million for the entire ninth floor at Regalia, an imposing condo tower in Sunny Isles Beach. The penthouse boasts four bedrooms, four bathrooms, 360-degree views of the Miami skyline, an additional 2,100 square feet of terrace space and a 1,000-bottle wine cooler in 511 square metres of indoor space. Messi purchased the unit fully furnished.Regalia, meanwhile, offers plenty for its residents including six pools, a spa, fitness centre, a yoga studio and a champagne bar and wine cellar. If all that wasn’t enough, a private chef is also on-site.

It was speculated that Messi’s decision to purchase the penthouse may have been part of a long-term plan to play in Major League Soccer with Inter Miami before retirement.

Messi to sell luxurious Miami penthouse

But Messi’s decision to sell up after just seven months, per Spanish outlet AS, may indicate that his plans have now changed.

That said, he does own another Miami-based condo, the downtown Porsche Design Tower, which he purchased for €5 million in 2019.

Anyone lucky enough to purchase Messi’s newest Miami penthouse will be able to joy an incredible outdoor swimming pool that looks out onto the Atlantic Ocean.

How the other half live, eh?

Messi is still adapting to life at PSG

Messi was a Barcelona player when he purchased the property and expected to continue his illustrious career at Camp Nou after the 2020-21 campaign.

However, Barça were unable to finance a deal to keep the 34-year-old, who ended up signing for Paris Saint-Germain.

Messi has struggled with injuries and inconsistency since joining PSG and is yet to score a single goal in Ligue 1 (after five appearances) so far.

Nevertheless, he remains one of the favourites to win the 2021 Ballon d’Or award after inspiring Argentina to their first major trophy since 1993 at the Copa America.

If he beats Robert Lewandowski to the prestigious individual accolade, the South American will have won the Ballon d’Or for a record-breaking seventh time.
