Usman, 34, and Covington, 33, are set to rematch in the main event of UFC 268 at Madison Square Garden in Manhattan where the former will be putting his welterweight title on the line.
The Nigerian Nightmare won the first fight almost two years ago by fifth-round technical knockout but the former interim champion is bidding for revenge.
Both fighters came face-to-face for the first time this week before the big event but things got out of hand pretty quickly as you might expect.
The pair hurled insults at each other before Usman pushed his opponent backwards and security stepped in to stop the feud from escalating further.
UFC president Dana White was left wincing after he got caught with a glancing blow as he desperately tried to keep them separated much to the amusement of fans on social media despite clearly being in a world of pain.
Usman had previously stated that he enjoys fighting Covington because he believes it brings out the best in him.
“I love what he brings to the table,” Usman said.
“He pushed me last time. I expect that from him this time. But as a person, he’s a rotten piece of s---, and I can’t believe his father let him put this persona on.
"He won’t spank you, don’t worry, Saturday night, I’ll do it for him.
"I’m looking at your dad over here in the corner, [all] respect my man, and I can just tell he’s embarrassed each and every time you open your mouth."

Unsurprisingly, UFC fans were split right down the middle after that exchange, with many making a case for and against both sides of the debate.
One fan tweeted: "Usman is rattled Colby via fourth round TKO. Trust in Westcon"
Another wrote: "Oh I love face offs so much but this one looks like kids fighting at a Halloween party"
A third posted: "Colby going to sleep Saturday night."
This hardcore UFC fan said: "Unlike Usman to act like that, is he feeling the pressure?"
Another fan referenced Usman's leopard-print suit in a tweet saying: "Usman dressed like Peggy Bundy."
One fan wrote: "Hopefully Colby has worked on his power. That was the difference between them the last fight."News Now - Sport News
