Yesterday WWE released 18 wrestlers just hours after the company's Q3 earnings call, and more has come to light about why some of the talent was let go.While all of the talent were told that their releases were down to budget cuts, a new report has suggested that another reason may have been at play for some of the talent. The New York Post is reporting that Nia Jax was released by WWE, amongst other reasons, because of the fact that she is unvaccinated.

A source with knowledge of WWE’s operations told The Post that one of the reasons Nia Jax, a former WWE Raw women’s champion, was released is that she is unvaccinated.

Andrew Zarian has followed this up with his own note on Twitter, reporting that at least four of the 18 wrestlers who were let go were unvaccinated, which played into their release.

Sean Ross Sapp has provided some additional information on the matter, reporting via Fightful Select that "at least five" of the released talent were "openly unvaccinated".

The report notes that the vaccination status of the talent was the "exclusive reason" that they were released, but did play into WWE's decision.

Sapp notes that the decision to release talent for not being vaccinated is "completely legal", and would have meant that talent wouldn't have been able to travel internationally and work in certain venues.
