Two months ago now, Connor Benn retained his WBA welterweight title against American Adrian Granados.More recently though, the fighter out of Greenwich, London went on Good Morning Britain and took on his father Nigel in a battle of sorts.The pair went head-to-head in a battle of their fists and it was closer than you would think.The legendary Nigel donned casual attire but that wasn’t reflected in his performance on the punching bag.His son approached the bag with his usual swagger and confidence but his performance underwhelmed.Nigel’s strike earned him a score of 848 which went down well with hosting duo Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway.p1fjo2m6jd8qrjp21jt3464icub.jpgEnter GiveawayThe 57-year-old icon of the sport was particularly pleased with his score only for Connor to demand a second attempt.Connor has a flawless record of 19-0 currently and his determination was reflected in the second showing.He hammered home a score of 860 to take the lead off of the former world middle and super middleweight champion.‘We might be here for some time’ was the contribution of former Tipping Point front-man Shephard as the family rivalry grew in intensity.

Nigel returned to the spotlight and bettered his own score, but not that of his son. It was a draw in fact, both had managed exactly 860-a-piece.

Between the pair of them, they only had one draw throughout their respective, illustrious careers yet the father and son duo were content with calling it quits. But what next for the younger Benn?

Conor, who is one of the many fighters signed on with Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing, is supposedly set for a swift return to the ring. The talk is he could be in action as soon as next month but there is yet to be anything publicised on the matter.
