We are 10 game weeks into the 2021/22 Premier League season.

Chelsea currently lead the way, with Liverpool, Manchester City and West Ham in hot pursuit.

At the other end of the table, Norwich and Newcastle are currently winless, while Burnley join them in the relegation zone.

But who have been the best performers in England's top tier this season?

We've named the top five Premier League players in every position so far this campaign, using stats provided by WhoScored.com.

Players must have made at least five starts in England's top tier to be included.

Mendy has conceded just three goals in the league this season. The Chelsea star is emerging into one of the best goalkeepers in the world.

Ramsdale has been a great buy for Arsenal, while Alisson has been outstanding once again for Liverpool.

Surprisingly, there is no room for Man City stopper, Ederson.

By far and away the best right-back in the Premier League this season has been Alexander-Arnold.

The Englishman has recorded three assists and helped Liverpool keep five clean sheets.

James has also impressed, while Southampton's Livramento looks a star of the future.

Alonso has recently lost his place to Ben Chilwell but was impressive to start the campaign.

Robertson hasn't been at his best in 2021/22 but just scrapes into the top five best players in his position.

Three of the five best centre-backs in the Premier League this season have been Chelsea players.

Chalobah, surprisingly, has been the best of the bunch. He was recently rewarded for his brilliant form with a new contract.

Kovacic just pips Rice to be named the best centre midfielder in the Premier League this season.

Gallagher, on loan at Crystal Palace form Chelsea, has been extremely impressive.

3) Mason Mount - 7.21
4) Phil Foden - 7.14

Silva was unhappy with the amount of game time he was getting and was close to leaving Man City in the summer. City will be glad the Portuguese magician didn't depart.

Fernandes hasn't hit the heights he did last season but has still been very impressive.

Mount, Foden and Gray and have all performed well for Chelsea, Man City and Everton respectively.

Salah has been the best right-winger in the world and it's not even close. He may well be the best player in the world right now.

Salah has taken all the headlines at Liverpool this campaign but Mane has also been very impressive.

The Senegalese star has scored six times in the Premier League in 2021/22.

Grealish has also performed well since making the £100m move to Man City this summer.

ST:

1) Michail Antonio - 7.51
2) Romelu Lukaku - 7.37
3) Ivan Toney - 7.36
4) Allan Saint-Maximin - 7.29

Antonio has been the best striker in the Premier League this season. He's directly contributed to 10 goals in nine games.

Cristiano Ronaldo does not make it into the top five best centre forwards.

In fact, with an average rating of 6.99, he's been the 65th best player in the league. Nine strikers have been statistically better than him.
