Salah features, no Ronaldo: The five best PL players in every position so far in 2021/22

Bruno Fernandes, Edouard Mendy and Mo Salah

We are 10 game weeks into the 2021/22 Premier League season.

Chelsea currently lead the way, with Liverpool, Manchester City and West Ham in hot pursuit.

At the other end of the table, Norwich and Newcastle are currently winless, while Burnley join them in the relegation zone.

But who have been the best performers in England’s top tier this season?

We’ve named the top five Premier League players in every position so far this campaign, using stats provided by

Players must have made at least five starts in England’s top tier to be included.

1) Edouard Mendy – 7.27
2) Aaron Ramsdale – 7.06
3) Alisson Becker – 7.02
4) Alex McCarthy – 6.89
5) Robert Sanchez – 6.83

Mendy has conceded just three goals in the league this season. The Chelsea star is emerging into one of the best goalkeepers in the world.

Ramsdale has been a great buy for Arsenal, while Alisson has been outstanding once again for Liverpool.

Surprisingly, there is no room for Man City stopper, Ederson.

2) Declan Rice – 7.54
3) Ilkay Gundogan – 7.46
