David Silva has set his sights on winning the UEFA Champions League this year, and insists it's not out of the question for Manchester City to realise their dream in their debut season in the competition.
As the Citizens prepare to face Napoli tonight, Roberto Mancini's men can secure a place in the last 16 with victory in Italy - an achievement that would represent another major step forward for the club.
"The Champions League is where we want to be and the level we are aiming for," Silva told UEFA's 'Champions' magazine. "Now that we have arrived, it is time to enjoy ourselves, make the most of it and show everyone what we can do.
"Last season was key for us. We won our first trophy for 35 years and qualified for the Champions League, claiming a place amongst the best teams in Europe.
"We need to improve upon what we have achieved already and keep progressing as a team. We must finish in the top four in the Premier League and secure Champions League football every season.
"It's not enough just to do it once. Of course, we've got to do well in the Champions League and we should aim to win it. Why not? I don't think that is out of the question."
The 25-year-old Spaniard has been one of City's stand-out performers so far this term, and attributes the increased competition for places as the main reason behind the team's improved performances, and continued progression.
"One of the reasons we're working better is because this group has settled as well," he added. "We qualified for the Champions League and have added a couple of players here and there who will help us step up a level.
"Hopefully that is going to show on the pitch. You'll see an improvement throughout this season as well. The team are coming together really well, players have been developing an understanding. There is definite improvement.
"That brings confidence, which allows us to express ourselves more and more. As the new signings settle, that will help us improve even more."
