Having first crossed paths last year, sporting legends Clarence Seedorf and UFC legend Khabib Nurmagomedov are embarking on a joint-mission.

The pair are using their respective expertise to set up an academy and put their shared passion for helping young people to the test.

Firstly, Seedorf is of course a famous name in the footballing world.

The legendary midfielder accumulated 87 caps for the national team as well as running out for the likes of Ajax, Real Madrid and both Milan clubs.

During his illustrious career he won multiple league titles and the Champions League across the various countries.

Secondly to Khabib and he is one of the biggest names in the UFC sphere. The Russian recently retired leaving behind a huge legacy, he went 29-0 after all. In 2018 he beat Conor McGregor via submission and then did the same to Dustin Poirier the following year.

Khabib was flirting with retirement in the latter stages of his career and so now that he finally has, he can fully commit to his passions outside of the octagon.

It is fair to say the both of them are icons and now they have joined forces, the end goal being a football academy called the Seedorf Khabib Performance Club.

This has been in the pipeline for a while now and was recently announced on Seedorf’s social media.

On Instagram the Dutchman wrote ‘I told you something exciting was about to come, I’m finally able to share this with all of you guys.’

Dubai is the so-called ‘launching pad’ for this all, for which they ‘want to give youngsters across the world the opportunity to develop their sport and social abilities with a training methodology which combines football and mixed martial arts.’

Both men have been vocal about their desires to help others, especially the youth, this venture being a perfect opportunity for them to do so. Seeing sport stars in the business of positive change is great.
