Al Ahly enjoyed a dream first half in their Egyptian Premier League encounter with Zamalek on Friday evening. The visitors led the Cairo derby 3-0 at the break, with their third goal coming via an absolutely stunning rabona assist from midfielder Amr El Solia.

Two up inside 20 minutes thanks to an own goal from Zamalek goalkeeper Mohamed Abou Gabal and a penalty from Ali Maaloul, things couldn't have gotten off to a better start for Al Ahly.

Just five minutes later, however, El Solia found striker Mohamed Sherif with a delightful ball to treble the advantage. Perfectly executing a rabona cross from just inside the penalty area, it was one of those deliveries that simply deserved to be converted off - and Sheriff obliged.

The finish didn't match the silkiness of the cross by any means - but then very little could.

El Solia would have been pleased with such an epic piece of skill against any opposition, but it will no doubt be all the sweeter having come against Al Ahly's fierce rivals.

"That assist is pure filth," wrote one fan on Reddit in admiration of El Solia's effort.

"What an incredible cross," added a second user, blown away by what they had witnessed.

"Didn’t know Di Maria played in the Egyptian League," said another, in reference to a similar assist laid on by the Argentine star for Mauro Icardi during Paris Saint Germain's 5-0 French Cup win over Angers in April.

"Total humiliation," read a final comment.

Zamalek bounced back somewhat in the second period, winning the half as the match ended 5-3 to Al Ahly. Of all the eight goals on show, however, there is only one that is likely to be a regular fixture on highlight reels for some time to come.

Take a bow, Amr El Solia!
