Journalist Paul Brown reckons that signing Tanguy Ndombele was a "massive mistake" from Tottenham.
The north London outfit broke their record transfer fee when they signed the Frenchman from Lyon in 2019.
But the midfielder has still not been able to hit top form on a regular basis, despite making more than 80 appearances for Spurs.
How has Ndombele performed at Tottenham?
Ndombele's time in the Premier League has been up and down to say the least.
It started off with a stunning debut goal against Aston Villa, whilst we've seen the spectacular goal at Sheffield United last January and other moments of brilliance in between.

But Ndombele's ability has never been questioned nor has it proved his biggest problem.
His work-rate, attitude and fitness levels have been three of the biggest factors holding the 24-year-old back.
Ndombele's roller coaster ride at Tottenham is not all by fault of his own, though. Including Ryan Mason's interim stint, Antonio Conte is now his fifth manager, which isn't an ideal situation for any player, especially one struggling to settle down.
Despite the odd moment of magic, his goals against Wolves and Newcastle this term two examples, Brown reckons that Ndombele has flopped since he made the £53.8m move from Lyon.

What did Brown say?
When asked whether Ndombele could fit in under Conte, he told GIVEMESPORT: "I thought for a long time that Spurs signing Ndombele was a massive mistake because they put so much money and faith into that signing, and it really hasn't worked."
Is Ndombele likely to get a chance under Conte?
Once again, this is likely to depend on Ndombele. There surely isn't a manager in the world that wouldn't want the midfielder in their team.
On his day, he's one of the most talented in the Premier League, but whether he has the work-rate and motivation to match his ability remains to be seen.
With Giovani Lo Celso still not up to much and Dele Alli getting further away from the XI with every passing week, this really does feel like a make-or-break time at Tottenham for Ndombele.
It's reached the point where Ndombele either excels under Conte and doesn't look back, or is sold in January or next summer.
