Manchester United's U23s beat bitter rivals Leeds United on Saturday afternoon thanks to Amad Diallo's exquisite 87th minute winner.

The Ivorian, who was signed for €40 million, broke the deadlock for his side in the sixth minute.

Leeds restored parity 17 minutes later, only for Charlie McNeill to give United the lead once again.

The away side looked like they had secured a point with 20 minutes remaining when Nohan Kenneh made it 2-2.

But United won it with three minutes thanks to a majestic goal from Amad.

The 19-year-old picked up possession just inside the box, beat a player with some wonderful skill, before rifling the ball with his weaker right foot into the back of the net.

It was a stunning effort and you can watch it below.

It's clear the teenager is far too good for the U23s.

Amad played eight times for United's first-team in the 2020/21 season, scoring once.

An injury kept him out for the first few months of this season, meaning he is yet to play for the first team in 2021/22.

But it might not be long until he features for the first team again.

That's because, while Amad was tearing apart Leeds for the U23s, United's first team were being schooled by Manchester City at Old Trafford.

The score finished 2-0 to Pep Guardiola's side but, in truth, the gulf in class between the two sides was much greater than the scoreline suggested.

Amad's performance was possibly the only positive for United on the day. With United struggling, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer - or whoever is manager - may give the teenager a chance to impress with the first team once again.
