Chelsea are reported to be interested in signing Sporting Lisbon's Dutch striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel.
Portuguese sports daily A Bola are reporting that under fire Blues boss Andre Villas-Boas is interested in bringing the 22-year-old to Stamford Bridge.
It is believed that ‘AVB’ will try to use the Londoners' connections through former Chief Executive, Peter Kenyon, in a bid to push through the deal.
Kenyon has a large say in where van Wolfswinkel moves, if at all, due to a company he helped found bought a stake in the player.
The company, Quality Football Ireland Limited, also have a stake in Brazilian midfielder Elias – also a reported target for Villas-Boas.
The Chelsea boss is on the look-out for striking recruitments, as there is huge uncertainty surrounding the futures of Nicolas Anelka and Didier Drogba.
Elias was formerly at Atletico Madrid and has been nicknamed ‘The Prophet’ by Sporting fans, as the club have seven consecutive victories since he scored on his debut.
