Valtteri Bottas will lead the pack down to turn one at the Mexico Grand Prix on Sunday after sealing pole position in qualifying on Saturday.

The Finn leaves the Mercedes team at the end of this season and seems set on departing on a high with him showing some really strong form in recent weeks.

Indeed, he'll be eager to try and convert pole into a race victory on Sunday afternoon but knows that championship obligations may prevent him from doing so.

Teammate Lewis Hamilton, looking to close the 12-point deficit he has to Max Verstappen in the Drivers' standings, starts the Grand Prix alongside Bottas on the front row and will be desperate for victory himself, particularly at a track that has been pencilled in as a Red Bull stronghold.

Indeed, it's a little surprising to see neither of the Bulls on the front row with Max Verstappen set to line up third and Sergio Perez in fourth, after both their qualifying laps at the final stage of the session on Saturday were compromised.

It sets us up, though, for a barnstormer of a start as the two title rivals for the Drivers' and, indeed, the Constructors' championships lead the pack into turn one and those behind are bound to be hoping for a few fireworks from which they can pick up the pieces.

Lights out is at 7pm UK time.
