Internacional 1-0 Gremio: It all kicked off as home side mock opponents after game

It all kicked off between Internacional and Gremio players

There were extraordinary scenes in the Brazilian league last night as all hell break loose after Internacional's win against Gremio.

Gremio went into the game in the relegation zone and desperately needing a victory.

However, they were unable to get anything from the game as they fell to a 1-0 defeat.

Former Shakhtar Dontesk midfielder, Taison, scored the only goal of the game in the 40th minute.

Internacional's players were jubilant at the final whistle.

Not only had they secured the three points, but they had put their fierce rivals on the brink of relegation to the Brazilian second tier.

And they decided to taunt their rivals by lifting up fake coffins, to symbolise their rivals' impending relegation.

A host of Gremio's players, understandably, did not take that very well.

They took exception and crazy scenes erupted. View the footage below...

The Brazilian league is just something else, isn't it?!

It seems every single week something unprecedented and crazy is going on over there.

Internacional's Patrick Nascimento and Gremio's Bruno Cortez were both sent off after the melee. It's surprising there were only two red cards, to be honest.

Gremio have now lost four games on the bounce and are seven points away from safety.

They have nine more games to turn their fortunes around and preserve their top-flight status.

Internacional, meanwhile, are up to seventh and have a Copa Libertadores spot in their sights.
