W Series Jamie Chadwick and Alice Powell impressed in the rookie test at the FIA World Endurance Championship in Bahrain.In total, 18 drivers took part in five hours of track testing, including current and future WEC stars.Richard Mille Racing entered Chadwick, Powell and French driver Lilou Wadoux.Powell completed 31 laps and achieved a 1 minute 53.578 seconds best, describing the experience as "very positive and interesting from a technical perspective."Chadwick drove in the three-hour afternoon session and set a best of 1minute 53.668 seconds.The 23-year-old took to Twitter to recount her experience of the rookie test, writing: "Amazing experience driving in LMP2 for the first time. Thank you Richard Mille Racing for the opportunity."Chadwick and Powell battled it out for the W Series title this year, with the drivers level on points going into the season-finale at the Circuit of the Americas last month.It was Chadwick who was triumphant. The Briton managed two wins in as many days to achieve back-to-back W Series titles, pipping her compatriot to the crown.Chadwick is the driver tipped to break boundaries in F1. She is a development driver for Williams and has 15 Super Licence points.

A total of 40 super licence points is required to compete in the top bracket of single-seater racing, and 25 needed to take part in an F1 practice session.

After she was crowned W Series for the second year running, Chadwick hinted she could be looking to enter the world of F1.

"The opportunity the W Series gives us all, but especially me now as a double champion, is huge," she said. "I'm going to relish that, take as much as I can, and hopefully step forward into bigger things.

"What's going to come with this season's win is going to be amazing. I'm so excited for what's next – I don't know what's next but it's been a really important leg up in my career to have that double championship."

Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc has revealed he would be "very happy" to see women racing in Formula One, while star George Russell came out to support Chadwick on another historic title.

Lewis Hamilton was also snapped watching a W Series practice race ahead of the US Grand Prix.

The test took place following yesterday’s Bahrain 8 Hours, the FIA WEC season-finale. Kamui Kobayashi, Jose Maria Lopez and Mike Conway, the crew of the #7 Toyota GR010 Hybrid, took the overall title.
