James Ward-Prowse and Ismaila Sarr are on Newcastle United's radar ahead of the transfer window reopening for business due to their Premier League experience, according to the Athletic journalist Chris Waugh.
The Magpies underwent a £305million takeover last month and the injection of cash, along with a lowly Premier League position, means Newcastle are likely to be busy in January.

It has been reported that Newcastle have set their sights on attracting Southampton midfielder Ward-Prowse to St James' Park.
The 27-year-old was the subject of interest from elsewhere during the summer, with Aston Villa seeing a £25million bid turned down.
Villa's pursuit led to Southampton tying their captain down to a new five-year contract in August as they looked to stave off potential suitors.
But Ward-Prowse is not the only transfer target for Newcastle, who are officially the richest club in the world following the change in ownership.
The Magpies are understood to be keen on making Watford winger Sarr one of their first signings as they enter a new era.
It has been reported that Ward-Prowse and Sarr are valued at a combined total of £150million.

Waugh believes Newcastle's winless start to the season, which has already seen boss Steve Bruce head out the exit door, means the Tynesiders need to add players to their ranks who are already up to speed with the Premier League.
As a result, the journalist feels Ward-Prowse and Sarr would be shrewd additions.
He told GIVEMESPORT: "Those sorts of players with Premier League experience makes them attractive.

"The fact that they are at Premier League clubs may mean there's a heightened premium on them but those sorts of young early-to-mid-20s players - maybe even slightly older if possible - would be attractive because they could come in and really make a difference.
"Newcastle need players who are going to make a difference here and now in January."
How much experience do Ward-Prowse and Sarr boast?
The duo have been involved in 317 Premier League games between them, with Saints captain Ward-Prowse featuring 278 times and Sarr making 39 appearances.
Ward-Prowse failed to miss a single minute in each of the last two top flight seasons.
He has already put Newcastle to the sword by scoring against the Magpies in August and boasts nine England caps.
Sarr has also made a positive start to the season following Watford's promotion from the Championship, with him bagging four goals in 10 outings ahead of today's clash with Arsenal.
