Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge reckons that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will only avoid the sack by winning a trophy or mounting a serious title challenge this season.

Furthermore, United have already crashed out of the Carabao Cup and are far from guaranteed to get out of their Champions League group after just two victories from their four matches, leaving them in danger of dropping into the Europa League once again.
And Bridge reckons that Solskjaer must produce something special this term or face the sack at the end of the campaign.

When asked about Solskjaer's future, he told GIVEMESPORT: "I think it's title race, trophy, or bust this season for Ole and I think even Gary Neville and Roy Keane acknowledge that.

Are United likely to win a trophy or be in the title race?
Unless something drastically changes, it's going to take something seriously special for United to even challenge the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester City, let alone finish above them.
Solskjaer has an extremely talented squad at his disposal, including one of the greatest players of all time in Cristiano Ronaldo, but even his arrival hasn't been able to change results on the pitch.
Right now, with West Ham and Arsenal both in excellent form and Tottenham under Antonio Conte, there's no guarantee that Manchester United will even finish in the top-four.
In terms of winning a trophy, unless United cause several upsets in Europe and fluke their way to a third Champions League crown or they slip into the Europa League, it's simply the FA Cup or nothing for Solskjaer.
