Daniel Sturridge's fledgling playing career was given a much needed lifeline recently as he took up an offer from Australian side Perth Glory.

Having once been one of the most feared hitmen in Europe, Sturridge's career has lurched from one set back to the next, with constant injury leading to many a false dawn.

After a trying final few years at Liverpool, the Englishman's move to Turkey proved to be a thoroughly damp squib, as his contract was mutually terminated just months into his time there.

He has been looking for a club to ply his trade at ever since and, after over a year of searching, the western Australia outfit have decided to take a punt on him.

Sturridge touched down in the land down under recently and has been stuck in mandatory hotel quarantine.

However, that has not stopped him from reaching out to the community in his new home in search of something that is clearly very important to him - a barber.

Posting on his Instagram story, Sturridge went into mass depth, listing a glut of lofty demands as he seeks someone to maintain his famous trim.

"Need a barber in Perth WA on Thursday. Only put your CV forward if you're top level," Sturridge began.

"You see the vibes, crispy clean, smooth like I wash my face with cake soap.

"If you've never cut hair like mine don't bother putting your CV forward, my hairline is important to me. It's straight. I don't want to leave AU with an M head hairline.

"Please proceed to put your CV forward if after all I've said you still fit the description. Top level craftsmanship, barber level on 1000 but don't charge anywhere near that much, if you do you are out of the running.

"Shaky hands I rebuke you. Don't bluff me. I'm gonna look on your profile. If your pics ain't good don't bother putting your CV forward - you are out the running.

"I had time today. Well I have time every day I'm in quarantine. Still. Bye for now."

Crikey - Studge is not messing about is he?

It'll be a high stakes game for whoever does land the job but, should they nail their audition, you can be sure there'll be massive reward in terms of added business.

For Sturridge, he'll be hoping to keep fit and get back into the business of scoring goals again.

With a fresh trim buoying his confidence, who knows what he could be capable of in the A League.
