Anthony Dirrell clinched the 34th win of his career by knocking out Marcos Hernandez at the weekend at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

The two fought on the undercard of the event that also had the highly-awaited bout between Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez and Caleb Plant.

Dirrell finished the fight in round four after knocking out Hernandez with a powerful right uppercut. This was the American's 34th win out of 38 bouts, having lost two against Badou Jack and David Benavidez.

Dirrell's knockout is undoubtedly one of the best we've seen all year and it has impressed a lot of boxing fans all over social media.

You could go as far as say it's one of the greatest uppercut knockouts the sport has ever seen.

This was Dirrell's second fight of the year, having previously fought Kyrone Davis in February, with the bout ending in a draw. However, he bounced back strongly to defeat Hernandez.

After the fight, The Dog said that he wanted to face the winner of Alvarez vs Plant.

"We worked hard for it and that's the key," remarked the 37-year-old. "If I give 100 percent, I know I can do it. We worked everyday for the past two months. I think I won [his last fight against Kyrone Davis] and it was a bit difficult without the crowd there."

As for Canelo, he won an intense fight against Plant via technical knockout in the 11th round. Had the bout gone the distance, the result would have been the same as the Mexican was comfortably ahead with scores of 98-92, 96-94 and 97-93.

With the win, Canelo successfully defended his WBA (Super), WBC, WBO, and The Ring super middleweight titles while winning the IBF super middleweight title. It was also the 57th win of what has been a glittering career for the Mexican.

Since Dirrell said that he would like to take on the winner of Canelo vs Plant, it seems that he will have to take on the former.

The former WBC super middleweight champion is a good fighter, but there's every chance the Mexican defeats him with relative ease if the two ever locked horns.
