Croatian midfielder Danijel Pranjic has admitted his career at Bayern Munich may be coming to an end.
Pranjic has played just 10 minutes of football this season for Munich, and is yet to make a start for the club.
Having fallen out of favour at the Allianz Arena, Pranjic is seeking to end his career in the Bundesliga, with Liverpool previously linked with the 29-year-old.
"I am a player of Bayern Munich, but I need to play regular first-team football," Pranjic said.
"I would really like to stay on, but the season works out to be very difficult for me.
"My farewell (from this club) is nearing."
Pranjic is desperate to make Croatia's squad for next summers European Championships, and did feature in both legs of the play-off against Turkey as Slaven Bilic's side strolled through to the finals.
Liverpool could provide a route out of Germany in the January transfer window, as they look to bolster their squad as they look to qualify for the Champions League and salvage a trophy in Kenny Dalglish first full season in charge in his second spell at Anfield.
Liverpool currently sit sixth, two points behind Chelsea and level on points with Arsenal in the Barclays Premier League.
