Manchester United are actively tracking Schalke defender Christian Fuchs, it has been claimed.
The Austrian full-back only signed for Schalke from Bochum for £5 million during the summer transfer window, and has since made 18 appearances for his new employers.
But, according to the Daily Mail, Sir Alex Ferguson has sent scouts to run the rule over Fuchs, and United representatives were in attendance on Saturday as Schalke lost to Borussia Dortmund.
Along with Manchester United, Juventus, Parma and Malaga have also been credited with interest in the 25-year-old, who continues to impress at the Veltins-Arena.
Meanwhile, United are also reported to be pursuing Udinese centre-back Mehdi Benatia as Ferguson scours the market for reinforcements.
Udinese confirmed on Wednesday they have received a number of offers for the Morocco international, although it is not clear if any of these were received from Old Trafford.
Chelsea are also said to be pursuing the highly-rated defender.
