Leeds target deal for imposing German - reports

Leeds United are reportedly monitoring Preston goalkeeper Thorsten Stuckhmann.

The imposing German shot-stopper has made six appearances for the Whites since moving to Deepdale during the transfer window, and has conceded for goals.

Stuckhmann had a trial with Leeds over the summer, but was unable to earn a contract at Elland Road, having left 2.Bundesliga outfit Alemannia Aachen.

However, according to The Mirror, Simon Grayson has been keeping tabs on the 30-year-old since his move to Preston, and is interested in bringing him to Leeds.

Meanwhile, Leeds climbed to fifth in the Npower Championship on Tuesday night after a resounding victory away at struggling Nottingham Forest.

Grayson's side triumphed 4-0 away at the City Ground, in a game the Leeds boss dedicated to tragically deceased former Elland Road star Gary Speed.

"That was right out of the top locker of our performances tonight," said Grayson after the triumph.

"It was very poignant that the first goal [from Snodgrass] came right as the 11 minutes of singing ended and was a left-footed shot.

"Gary Speed scored many goals like that. It's been difficult, but I'm a very proud manager tonight. I'm delighted to have got a result for Gary Speed."
