Brown wanted better reaction

Wes Brown does not think Sunderland reacted well enough to missing a penalty at Molineux yesterday.

The Black Cats were 1-0 up thanks to Kieran Richardson's powerful strike when Phil Dowd pointed to the spot after Jody Craddock was ajudged to have tripped Sebastian Larsson.

Wayne Hennessey saved the Swede's tame penalty and Wolves went straight up the other end where Steven Fletcher levelled the scores with a header.

"We were in control for 60 minutes but as soon as we missed the penalty heads went down and they were back in it at 1-1 within a minute," said Brown.

"From then on they were on top and went on to get the second which was bittely disappointing."

Fletcher was on hand again to score the winner for Wolves but there were strong claims for handball by Jamie O'Hara in the build up to the goal.

Former Manchester United man Brown said: "I thought it was a handball for the second goal; a lot of the lads did. I'll have to have a look at it again."

The former England international defender was unimpressed with how Sunderland reacted when things went against them in the game.

"Our heads went down and that's something we need to pick up on," he admitted. "Fair enough, we missed a penalty but we were still 1-0 up and needed to keep our concentration and focus.

"But we didn't and once they scored the crowd started going and they got right on top of us."
