Steve Kean has hailed the influence of Yakubu after the Nigerian striker fired Blackburn to victory against Swansea on Saturday.
'The Yak' netted four times at Ewood Park to ensure Rovers moved off the foot of the Barclays Premier League table with a 4-2 win over Brendan Rodgers' side.
Yakubu now has 10 goals in 12 appearances for Blackburn, having made the move to Lancashire from Everton during the summer transfer window.
And Kean is thankful to be able to count the 29-year-old former Portsmouth hitman among his number.
"The Yak is top notch, he can score all sorts of goals," said the Blackburn boss.
"He can score headers, he can score penalties, he can score tap-ins and he can score the sort of goals like the first one today.
"He's excellent, he's popular around the place, it was nice to present him with the match ball."
He added: "He's the type of player that when he's in a groove, and he's in one right now, then goals flow from him.
"I think he's getting fitter, he's getting sharper and he is enjoying the sort of service he is being given."
