Tottenham are reportedly preparing to reignite their interest in Chelsea target Gary Cahill.
The Bolton defender is out of contract in the summer, and the Trotters are expected to cash-in on the 25-year-old during the January transfer window.
Chelsea were initially installed as favourites to secure Cahill's signature but, according to the Daily Mail, Spurs are planning a bid of around £7 million.
Harry Redknapp had attempted to bring Cahill to White Hart Lane on transfer deadline day in August, but Spurs were unable to agree a fee with Bolton.
And, despite the Spurs boss insisting he currently has no plans to make winter reinforcements, it would appear Cahill remains on his radar.
Chelsea, meanwhile, are expected to bolster next month, and Andre Villas-Boas is said to have a long-standing admiration for Cahill.
The England centre-back also has the benefit of having played alongside John Terry on international duty and, should he move to Stamford Bridge, would provide competition for David Luiz.
