Excusive: City fans expect UCL lifeline

Manchester City fans have spoken over their Champions League campaign - and don't expect it to end against Bayern Munich tomorrow night.

The Citizens need things to go their way outside of the Etihad Stadium in Group A, with a helping hand from Villarreal the only way Roberto Mancini's side can overtake Napoli and claim second place in the table.

However, a GiveMeFootball poll show City fans have not given up hope of progressing, and are confident things will go their way both home and abroad.

64% of the 500-strong poll expect City to progress to the last 16 of Europe's premier club competition, whilst only a quarter of all those who responded thought it would be the exit door for Mancini's men.

11% remain unsure, showing the majority are confident of victory against the Bundesliga giants - a must if the blue half of Manchester are to avoid the Europa League.

The Yellow Submarine, who are yet to pick up a point in the competition, need to draw with Walter Mazzarri's side to give City a chance.
