Spurs have performed to distinction so far, having smashed their Inter counterparts 7-1 earlier in the campaign, while also registering wins against Basel and PSV Eindhoven.

The young Lilywhites have already secured their passage out of group four, but could yet top the table, and will face Liverpool in the next round should they avoid defeat against Inter.

And Ferdinand is wary of the Italians seeking some retribution following the hammering dished out at Brisbane Road in August.

"Inter will be smarting from the last game," Ferdinand told the official Tottenham website.

"This has been a real good series for the boys and we've come up against some good sides and played some good football.

"We've made it this far doing so well and we can finish it off by beating Inter on Thursday and being top of the group.

"I think it's what the lads deserve because they've really applied themselves in this competition."
