Tottenham are looking to sign Juventus striker Amauri, according to a Fifa agent.

Ernesto Bronzetti has revealed that the White Hart Lane club are hoping to bring the Barzilian-Italian to north londonn in January.

Bronzetti was speaking to when he confirmed that Harry Redknapp's side were one of the clubs interested in signing the striker.

"His future will be decided in the coming days," he said. "We'll see if he still will play in Italy or England. Tottenham are in as well as two or three Italian teams."

Amauri has been frozen out at Juventus under manager Antonio Conte and is desperate for a move.

Spurs are also looking to boost their attacking options and provide support for on-loan striker Emmanuel Adebayor.

The Manchester City forward is in good form but his understudies Jermain Defoe and Roman Pavlyuchenko have failed to deliver consistently.

Pavlyuchenko is expected to secure a move away from Tottenham once the transfer window opens and Defoe has not been able to settle into the system Harry Redknapp uses.

31-year-old Amauri has a good scoring record but doesn't seem to be able to convince his coach at Juventus that he is worthy of a place in the squad.
