Leigh Griffiths will serve a one-match suspension after Hibernian declined the opportunity to contest the charge imposed after the striker made an offensive gesture in last Saturday's match with Rangers.

Hibs accepted the ban proposed by the Scottish Football Association and, instead of being the subject of a disciplinary tribunal on Thursday, Griffiths, who is on loan from Wolves, will miss Saturday's Clydesdale Bank Premier League fixture with Aberdeen.

A statement on official club website read: "Hibernian FC confirmed today (Tuesday) it would not be appealing the notice of complaint issued by the Scottish FA compliance officer against Leigh Griffiths and would accept the one-match suspension offered."
