Manchester City midfielder Nigel De Jong is set to be the subject of a bid from London, according to the Mirror.

Newly promoted QPR are readying themselves for a transfer spree and Neil Warnock wants to start with the Dutchman from the Etihad Stadium.

De Jong has become increasing marginalised under Roberto Mancini at Manchester City and QPR are ready to exploit this situation.

The Citizens have had an electric start to the season, but the Holland international could be tempted by the prospect of regular football at Loftus Road.

The 26-year-old has not started a Barclays Premier League game for City since November, with Gareth Barry being preferred.

De Jong is hoping City will offer him a new contract as his current deal runs out at the end of next season.

Meanwhile Warnock is desperate to add to his squad in a bid to maintain their positive start to the season.

Any De Jong deal would not be anything for than a loan initially, but City may be prepared to cash in on him in the summer.

The deal also depends on whether any other midfielders are brought in to the Etihad Stadium, as Yaya Toure will be heading to the Africa Cup of Nations in January.
