John Terry is expected to be fit for Thursday's trip to White Hart Lane, despite suffering an injury scare in Chelsea's open training session on Monday morning.

The Blues skipper is undergoing treatment on an Achilles injury after being helped off the pitch in some distress after blocking a shot midway through the practice.

Terry played the full 90 minutes of Saturday's 1-1 draw with Wigan, despite taking a knock to his knee in the game at the DW Stadium.

However, Andre Villas-Boas was optimistic his captain would be fit for Chelsea's midweek meeting with Tottenham.

After recovering in time to take part in yesterday's open session, Terry pinched his Achilles, meaning his inclusion has once again been called into doubt - but the 31-year-old is expected to face the Blues' title rivals in their final match before Christmas.

Brazilian duo David Luiz and Ramires both sat out of training after both missed the trip to Wigan with minor injuries, but are also set for a first-team return this week.
