The agent of rising Brazilian starlet Lucas Moura has revealed that Liverpool and Chelsea have both made offers for the player.
Along with Inter Milan, the three clubs have all approached Wagner Ribiero about a possible deal for the 19-year-old, who has earned rave reviews with both Sao Paulo and the Seleção.
"I received three offers for my client from Chelsea, Inter and Liverpool," Ribiero told a radio station in the player's homeland.
"But the club will not sell Lucas at this stage and will turn down every single offer. They made it clear that Lucas won't go. However, in June we will talk about that again."
Liverpool have recently emerged as one of the clubs monitoring the player closely, with reports on talkSPORT and Goal.com in July and September respectively claiming the Reds would consider bringing the player known simply as 'Lucas' to England.
Valued in the region of £25 million, manager Kenny Dalglish would have to spend big to bring the attacking midfielder to Anfield, although Liverpool have done just that under the ownership of FSG.
Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez cost a combined fee of close to £60 million in January, whilst Charlie Adam, Jordan Henderson and Stewart Downing all cost Liverpool considerable fees in the summer.
However, injury problems for captain Steven Gerrard and Lucas Leiva have left the Merseysiders relatively short in the central midfield position, and a new Lucas would be seen as a major coup for Liverpool given his potential future in the game.
As for Chelsea, they've been linked with a string of attacking midfielders following Andre Villas-Boas' arrival in the summer, bringing Raul Meireles to west London but failing in their pursuit of Luka Modric.
The former Porto boss has made clear strides in looking to build towards a new future at Stamford Bridge, signing young players in an effort to build a new core for the Chelsea side in their pursuit of long-term success.
Lucas would certainly fit that category, although a lack of Barclays Premier League experience would be seen as a negative for the Blues as they look to fight for a top four finish.
Compatriot Neymar has also been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea, where David Luiz, Ramires and Alex also ply their trade, although the later is poised to leave the club in January.News Now - Sport News
