Tottenham Hotspur assistant manager Kevin Bond has saluted the north London club's desire to take advantage of their rivals dropping points when they defeated Norwich City on Tuesday.

Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal were all held to draws prior to Spurs' fixture with Norwich, in which two Gareth Bale goals helped dispatch the newly promoted side.

The result leaves Tottenham four points clear of Chelsea, five clear of Arsenal, and seven clear of Liverpool, while leaders City are just seven points better off, with Spurs will possessing a crucial game in hand.

“Those results were a real incentive for us,” Bond said. “A lot of the teams slipped up and it was a opportunity for us.

“Everyone was determined, you could sense it in the dressing room before the game that we wanted to make the most of it and we did that.

“We were on top from about 20, 25 minutes and ran out worthy winners. It was a great performance.”
