Blackburn Rovers have set an £8 million asking price for Junior Hoilettt, despite the forward having only six months to run on his current contract.
The Canadian is yet to sign a new deal with Rovers, and will be permuted tot alk to rival clubs in the New Year.
The likes of Tottenham Hotspur have been heavily linked with Hoilett, but Rovers hope their £8 million valuation will warn off interest from afar.
Hoilett has failed to inspire a Rovers side that are rock bottom of the Barclays Premier League having picked up just two wins all season.
Tottenham, one of those reportedly interested, will be keen to add to a squad that is chasing down the Barclays Premier League title, and with addition of Hoilett would help bare the loss of Aaron Lennon to injury, and assist in the club's rotation policy, with the onus on Gareth Bale swelling by the week.
Bale scored twice against Norwich City earlier this week and his fitness is likely to be vital to Spurs' hopes of chasing down both Manchester City and Manchester United.
If Hoilett can be recruited, it would allow Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp to rest the likes of Bale and Rafael Van der Vaart.
