Manchester United could struggle to land reported target Rasmus Elm after his agent claimed he would be suited to the Primera Liga with Valencia reports skysports.com.

The 23-year-old Swedish international, who currently plies his trade with AZ Alkmaar, has been heavily linked with a move to the reigning Barclays Premier League champions.

However, Elm's representative Patrick Moerk stressed last week that there is no deal in place for the 'super Swede' to move to Old Trafford, and said that he may benefit from a switch to La Liga.

"Valencia is a good choice and an attractive club for Rasmus," Moerk told Voetbal Primeur.

Sir Alex Ferguson is a known admirer of Elm's and will be hoping to persuade Moerk that his clients future would be better served at Manchester United.

Under contract at AZ until 2013, Elm's future is almost certainly away from the Dutch Eredivisie, and the player has stated he will sit down and consider his options before the close of the January transfer window.
