Keane completes Villa loan switch

Aston Villa have announced today that the club have completed the deal that will bring Robbie Keane on loan to Villa Park until February 25th.
The former Spurs forward has been playing his football stateside with the LA Galaxy since his summer switch from England in August.
Keane is the latest of a trio of players who have decided to gain game time during the MLS off-season, following Landon Donovan and Thierry Henry's temporary moves back to the Barclays Premier League.
Alex McLeish hopes to have the vastly experienced Dubliner in his squad in time for Saturday's home game with Everton. This will hinge on whether the club can gain international clearance from FIFA in time.
The Scottish boss couldn't hide his delight with the signing citing Keane's "leadership qualities, his movement and experience" as assets he valued in bringing him to the Midlands.
Keane too has echoed the positivity of the manager, saying: "Villa is a great club, a club with massive tradition and standing in the game and Villa Park is one of the finest stadiums I've ever played in."
The striker becomes Aston Villa's second Irish import of the transfer window following Enda Stevens' move from Shamrock Rovers, and he will battle with Gabriel Agbonlahor, Darren Bent and Emile Heskey for a place on Villa's front line.
