Suarez rejects Arsenal January switch

Anderlecht striker Matias Suarez has denied reports suggesting the 23-year-old is set to join Arsenal in the January transfer window.

The Argentine sign for the Belgian side in 2008 after being plucked from Belgrano.

Reports had suggested that Suarez was set to join The Gunners next summer after signing a pre-contract agreement, however stories to the contrary say the forward is set to join the current winter window.

However, Suarez said: "I want to, at the very least, finish the job that I started and that is helping the team to win the title, which is what everyone deserves," he said in De Standaard.

"I don't know where the story has come from that I will be joining Arsenal this winter, but I can formally deny it.

"My bosses are well aware of what I want and that is to stay at Anderlecht for now. I'm still learning and that's another reason why I don't want to leave."
