Platt confident of City character

Manchester City assistant manager David Platt is certain the Blues have what it takes to win the Barclays Premier League this season.

Major question marks are being asked about City for the first time this season after successive home defeats to Manchester United and Liverpool, and Roberto Mancini's men head to Wigan on Monday night with a major point to prove.

"Do you go up and down with results? Yes," said Platt. "I was down the other night. Everyone is disappointed because we have lost a home game that makes reaching the Carling Cup final difficult. But is this group of players capable of winning by two goals at Anfield? All season it has shown us that it is."
