Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp went to Marseille to scout Lille winger Eden Hazard and Marseille striker Loic Remy on Sunday, according to The Daily Mail.
While Remy has been heavily linked with Spurs, the French international says he was unlikely to move to North London in the January transfer window.
However, Hazard, who has previously stated that he will leave Lille next summer, was also being reportedly watched by Redknapp.
The Belgian has been linked with the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool in the past, and Spurs are now the newest admirers, with Redknapp making a first-hand scouting mission, where he saw Remy net twice.
"I am ready to go to the next level at a big club," Hazard said in October.
"I won't leave in January. It would be silly to do so. But it's my last season at Lille.
"I stayed with Lille this year because I still had things to work on and prove. But now I'm ready. I feel able to play in another country."
Reports have been rife that Spurs will look to add to their squad in the January transfer window, before a possible bid for Hazard.
